When I was in the work world, and thank God I am out of that, I tried to find what I was good at, and that would be my job. I started out in the clerical field, typing on a manual typewriter. Yes, I am that old.
I never liked that field, but my dad thought that if I could get a position with the county, I would be set for life. He also noticed no boyfriends were beating down the door to date me, so if I turned out to be an old maid, at least I had a way to support myself.
I dabbled in food service for a few years but didn’t like it either, so I went back to clerical work. By then, the computer had been invented, and things were a lot easier.
Now, I am blogging and using my writing talent to make a difference in others’ lives.
Do you have a dream that you want to bring to life? You can dream, hope, and pray that everything turns out the way you want, but what will really help you live that dream life is visualization.
When you visualize how you want your life to go, it’s almost as though you are mapping out a plan.
Know What You Want
Make your goals specific. What kind of house do you want to live in? How much money do you need to make to be successful? Which city do you want to live in? Do you want to have nice trees and a colorful garden?
Fill in All the Details
For the best results, sit comfortably, close your eyes, and imagine what it will be like when you reach your goals.
For example, if you want to buy a new house, what would it look like? Do you want extra guest rooms when you have company? What color is the paint? If you like to cook and entertain, you could have double ovens to save time and a movable island to lay things out buffet-style.
Go through each room of the house and the yard, and fill in every detail of how you would like it to look.
Create a Vision Board
A vision board helps you stay focused as you work toward your goals. If you’re budget-challenged, you can use a big piece of poster board as your vision board, but if you want to get fancy about it, order one of the fancy vision boards with more bells and whistles.
Find images on the web that look like your dream house. Cut those images out and tape them to your vision board. You could also use Pinterest to find the right images. I find that when I cut images from magazines, the colors are brighter and I can visualize them more clearly.

Make Visualizing a Daily Habit
You may be tempted to skip days, but if you want faster results, keep these visions in mind. Pick a time of day when you are most relaxed and can have uninterrupted time to yourself. Close your eyes and visualize reaching your goals. As you fill in the details, you may want to jot down your ideas for later reference. If you can, keep the same time every day, and it will be so exciting to watch your dreams unfold.
Use a Hypnosis Download
Don’t be afraid of hypnosis. I have used hypnosis for almost 15 years and have had some life-changing results. Hypnosis is also a great way to improve your visualization skills. You can mentally practice being the sort of person you want to be, so that when a situation presents itself, you are ready to act in the best possible way.
Final Thoughts
Visualization takes a lot of patience and willingness to stick to a goal. It can also be very enjoyable and give you a clear vision of what your dream life will look like. Stick with it, and keep learning. Your goal will soon be a reality.
