This post is about how to fire up your focus. Let’s face it, there are just those days when you just feel like sitting and doing nothing. In the morning, I eat breakfast and check the online news. You know how it is, one interesting story can lead to another, and of course, I have to hear about the latest trials and tribulations of the Kardashians.
One goal that I have is to reduce my arthritis pain through diet, exercise, and arthritis aids. When I post to my blog, I am sharing what I am learning with you.
I have to wear splints due to arthritis pain. There is not a day that goes by that my neck, back, and hips don’t feel like they are on fire. It is difficult to get my focus up. However, I have to keep pushing myself, or I will never reach my goals.
Here are six ways to fire up your focus:
Practice Time Management
Some people can work on their dreams full-time, but they are in the minority. Most people have a day job, kids to chauffeur to school and activities, and a husband who wants dinner on the table ASAP.
If you belong to the second group, start with your most important tasks first. When all your assigned tasks are done, work on your dreams.
Look for Ways You Can Improve
Great people are constantly learning. Even successful entrepreneurs like Bill Gates and Elon Musk read books regularly. They’re busy with their multibillion-dollar companies, but they still find time to read books and learn new things.
If you prefer listening to reading, take advantage of audio recordings. Buy some earbuds, and you can get other things done at the same time.
When I first heard about using a to-do list, I thought it would feel too much pressure and that I wouldn’t be able to finish the whole list.
There is a feeling of accomplishment when you start checking off things on your list. We’ve only got 24 hours in a day, and we spend almost a third of that sleeping.
The remaining time you need to balance between life, work, and your dreams. Your to-do list will help you stay on track.

Get Inspiration from Successful People
There are many successful people you can use as inspiration. I think of Thomas Edison and the light bulb. Edison actually went through over ten thousand prototypes before getting it right.
I certainly wouldn’t have been that patient, but I’m learning. I have a mentor who gives tremendous advice and is a talented writer, but she has been in business for 20 years.
There are a few people who can make it big in a short amount of time, but they are definitely in the minority. As the old saying goes, “Slow and steady wins the race”.
Work on Things Outside Your Comfort Zone
Just thinking about going outside your comfort zone is downright scary. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could achieve all your goals and dreams from the comfort of your own home?
Exploring and experimenting outside your comfort zone is necessary to achieve your goals. When you push your boundaries, you’re essentially trying to see how far you can go. Take small steps, but keep moving forward.
Work with a Mentor or Coach
A mentor is someone who’s walked the same path. Someone who’s also done great things and is willing to share what they’ve learned with someone else. Let that someone be you.
If you have a mentor who shares your passions, you’ll find that you’ll be able to reach your goals much faster than if you did it on your own.

Summary
It isn’t easy to change your life, but at the end of the road, it will all be worth it. I like this quote by American fashion designer Vera Wang. “Success is not about the end result, but what you learn along the way.”
